TRON?!
PONIES!!!?
This is the stuff from which legends are born.
On the day this was made, true awesomeness was fully known.
Let me start with something people won't kill me for: My favorite pony is Fluttershy. I have my reasons for this, but one of them is that Dash, especially dash as a cool pony, was overrated in my mind. Now recent episodes like Mare Do Well and Hurricane Fluttershy have improved my opinion of her.
Now, before I get too off topic, my point is thus:
Somehow mixing Dash with Tron like this is just WIN! Absolute WIN! I am starting to see why so many people love Dash and have fun putting her into these situations. She may not be the 'Hero' in the strictest sense, but she is one who can take the fight where it needs to go... and she ALWAYS looks good in an action setting.
So, what we have learned here is: Take the right character, put them into the right setting, get a wonderful artist to mix it up, and you can change the world. You certainly changed mine.
The first few episodes of Rainbow Dash overplayed her, making her seem almost faultless. It was only in the later episodes where they showed her shortcomings, such as her pride and stubborn attitude, which are the traits that make characters more relatable and less likely to divide opinions on the character.
There were moments for Fluttershy though that could easily divide the audience. Dragonshy was an episode where many could see Fluttershy too unbearable, as she showed nothing in the way of strength until the end. Each character has had at least 1 episode devoted to showing off their real weaknesses, simply to give them a more human feel. While Fluttershy will always be my favourite, Applejack is surprisingly the most human of them all, which is probably why she is so overshadowed. I guess her characters weakness is that she's too relatable in a world of outrageous personalities and mannerisms, which is a shame, because she is a great character.
